Blair Moses for Arizona
Campaign Priorities
Protect Constitutional Rights
As a retired attorney who had a year of Constitutional Law during law school, I am a strong proponent of, and believe in the sanctity of, our Constitution. Voters of all parties have shared with me concerns about Legislative bills that negatively affect Arizonans’ rights to vote, free speech, peaceful assembly, put referendums on the ballot, and due process of law, as well as bills that hurt vulnerable communities in our state. One of my main priorities is to protect our Constitutional rights, including upholding existing state constitutional law.
Affordability
The rising cost of food, housing, electricity, and water is a major nonpartisan concern of people across the country, including Arizona. For many, the cost of monthly food has doubled over the past year, and water and electricity costs have been much higher than before, all of which must be addressed by the Legislature. Included in this issue is the need to establish reasonable controls on the energy and water use, as well as the location and number, of large data centers and to study their impact on Arizonans’ utilities.
Fully Fund Public Schools
With 80–90% of Arizona students attending public schools, appropriate funding of public schools is essential to maintaining their excellence. To aid in this endeavor, oversight, caps, and accountability for the voucher program, which drained more than $1 billion from the state budget last year, must be established. Further, renewing Proposition 123, which is set to expire this year, is vital to ensure full, necessary public-school funding.
Healthcare
During my 30-year healthcare background, I saw firsthand the terrible outcomes for those with no access to healthcare and the life-long debt incurred by those with no health insurance. With national bills negatively impacting not only health insurance premiums, but also access to healthcare for millions of people, Arizona will need to develop both a state plan and budget that ensure every resident can receive the healthcare they need without incurring life-long debt.
Blair Moses: A Voice for Mesa Families
Blair Moses is running for the Arizona Senate in Legislative District 10. As a retired attorney with a prior career in healthcare, she spent recent legislative sessions reviewing the hundreds of bills introduced at the State Capitol. What Blair found was alarming to her: a sharp rise in legislation aimed at limiting Constitutional rights, restricting healthcare access, undermining voting rights, and making it harder for Arizonans to afford food, housing, and utilities. Bills harming public education and attacking vulnerable communities have also increased every year. These bills are hurting real people. This is why Blair is running.
Legislative District 10
Legislative District (LD) 10 consists of the Eastern half of Mesa. We are a district of more than 200,000 residents! I am running to represent the people of LD 10, and I am committed to doing so as a Clean Elections candidate receiving no donations from lobbyists, PACs, corporations, or special interest groups.
